It is well known that in this blog we are big fans of elopement weddings, even before they gained the popularity they have today. That's why we are always sharing tips and ideas for all those adventurous couples who want to break away from tradition.

Having an elopement no longer necessarily means having to leave behind the idea of having a wedding to run away to get married and run away from everything in a rebellious way without anyone knowing about it. Elopement ceremonies have taken on a whole new meaning and have become another way for couples to complement their weddings, the perfect opportunity for them to have a solo adventure and share their vows in a very emotional and memorable way in a spectacular setting away from the hustle and bustle of conventional weddings.

Whether you and your partner don't want to celebrate a typical wedding with a party, you want to renew vows or have a small intimate moment before your big wedding to keep a nice memory with epic photos, choosing the best destination to celebrate an elopement will always depend on your tastes and personality as a couple... from the beautiful Caribbean sea, to the great desert landscapes in the north of the country, today we want to share with you what for us are the 30 best places to elope in Mexico for incredible wedding photos, all amazing places that will be the perfect setting to achieve the most memorable photos.

One of the Pueblos Mágicos with more history and tradition in our country is San Miguel de Allende, a place recognized worldwide for its colonial architecture and its streets full of color, mariachi and its traditional callejoneadas with the great puppets that announce to the world their celebration of love.

One of our favorite Mexican traditions will always be the calenda in Oaxaca, this colorful parade full of dancing and partying where the Oaxacan chinas with their traditional costumes and baskets full of flowers accompany the couples from the church to the reception. Simply a beautiful cultural display that we hope will never be forgotten.

South of Mexicali, the road that leads to San Felipe, surrounded by high mountains and desert landscapes, hides a gap that leads to a large salt flat that paints the panorama in white. To arrive at El Salar is to find a fragment covered with salt that, when reflected by the sun, achieves a mirror effect that makes it an incredible backdrop for the most memorable photographs.

The red dunes of Pacula, an almost unknown place in México that is located 5 hours from México City and is known for its terracotta sand that achieves a landscape that seems out of this planet. This red sand field is surrounded by a cloud forest populated by juniper, pine and cedar trees, which makes it an ideal location for the most epic photographs.

Tucked away in a paradisiacal corner of the Yucatán Peninsula are these stunning pink lakes in México, known as Las Coloradas. The fascinating landscape is famous for its cotton candy-colored waters, pastel blue skies and white sand beaches. Upon arrival, pick a spot and take some time to contemplate it while your senses reconnect with nature. Afterwards you can have a memorable exchange of vows or an amazing photo session.

Edward James’ Surrealist Garden was created by the creative mind of this English poet and artist, in the heart of the Magic Town of Xilitla, southeast of San Luis Potosí. This place is famous for its surrealist architecture that evokes both the orchids that James loved so much and the vegetation that internationally identifies the Huasteca Potosina. Without a doubt, one of the most iconic places for spectacular couple photos in our country.

  • 29. In the former mansion of Porfirio Díaz at Hacienda Maltaraña in Jalisco.

Hacienda Maltaraña is an emblematic mansion of French architecture that once belonged to General Porfirio Díaz. In fact, this was his resting house, as he used to visit it during Easter vacations. This site is located in Maltaraña, also known as "La Palmita" municipality of Jamay, Jalisco at the foot of the Lerma River. Its interior is closed, but it is worth a visit to get lost in the fantasy and capture photos that look like something out of a fairy tale.

Los Dinamos is the ideal place to reconnect with nature and get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
