As you know, weddings in our beloved and beautiful country will always be our favorites, and so we never get tired of searching for destinations full of magic where you can celebrate an alternative wedding full of the charm and culture that México has to offer. One of our favorite things about México is the immense variety of Pueblos Mágicos that exist throughout the country, all of them with a special charm that are characterized by their history, iconic architecture and great natural and socio-cultural attributes.

That is why today we want to show you our favorite 10 Pueblos Mágicos to celebrate a destination wedding in México, and why they offer the most interesting options for locals and foreigners to celebrate their wedding there.

1. Todos Santos, Baja California Sur.

An hour's drive from the tourist city of Los Cabos and surrounded by the sea and huge saguaros, is the Pueblo Mágico of Todos Santos, an ideal place for all bohemian souls with the desire to get married in a destination where yoga at the beach and surfing are daily activities. In Todos Santos you will find the most interesting and stylish options to celebrate your destination wedding in México, such as the boutique hotel Guaycura, Hotel San Cristobal and La Bohemia. 2. Valle de Bravo, Estado de México.

Valle de Bravo is such a calming place, but it can also awaken the most adventurous side in anyone. Its famous lake is ideal for water activities such as water skiing, sailing and kayaking. If you choose to spend a more relaxed time, Valle de Bravo has the best spas and healing centers where you can pamper yourself with a massage or temazcal session. 3. San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.

Although in 2008 its title as Pueblo Mágico was withdrawn in order to recognize this iconic city as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, this beautiful destination deserves a special mention. San Miguel de Allende was named the best city in the world in 2017 due to its great cultural contribution, its people, its beauty and its gastronomy. A characteristic place for being the heart of Mexican history, and which in the same way combines the avant-garde of the modern world in its streets, being home of exclusive boutiques and art galleries. This Mexican city offers different ways to celebrate a wedding, either in a luxurious hotel like Rosewood or Live Aqua, at spectacular gardens on the outskirts such as Rancho las Sabinas and Luna Escondida or in a boutique-style terrace like that of Hotel Hilo Rojo.

4. Tepoztlán, Morelos.

This Pueblo Mágico is just a two-hour drive from México City. Tepoztlán is recognized for the Tepozteco hill, archaeological zone, temples and beautiful traditions. When visiting, you definitely have to taste a traditional dish at the market and enjoy a typical Tepoznieves, an ice cream parlor renowned for the wide variety of exotic flavors they offer. If you visit Tepoztlán, you definitely need to experience a Temazcal and thus experience the most mystical part of this beautiful place in the north of Morelos.

Imagine being able to celebrate your wedding at the foot of the majestic Cerro del Tepozteco? If you like this idea, then Bajo la Montaña is an excellent option to make it come true.

5. Sayulita, Nayarit.

This Pueblo Mágico full of hippie-chic vibes is a popular place for Mexicans and foreigners to celebrate a destination wedding in México, as it has world-class restaurants, shops and accommodations that will make your guests spend the best of times. Its boutique hotels are among the most distinguished and you will surely be able to live your big day in a memorable way in one of them, such as Siete Lunas and Oz Sayulita. Among the best places with the most privileged views of the sea in which you can exchange your vows are Villa de Oso and Teitiare.

Just an hour drive from Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita has spectacular scenery that you can explore while you are there, as well as having the advantage of being close to other paradisiacal destinations that you will not want to miss such as Punta Mita, Islas Marietas and Yelapa.

6. Tequila, Jalisco.

This Pueblo Mágico is located between the slopes of the Tequila volcano and the Rio Grande canyon and is surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of agave crops, which have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and are the perfect background for spectacular wedding photos. Tequila, Jalisco is a destination recognized for its old farms and distilleries that are responsible for making the emblematic drink that bears its name. If you are interested in immersing yourself in the culture and history of tequila, then you cannot miss out on visiting some of the renowned distilleries in the region such as Casa Sauza and José Cuervo, as well as taking the famous train tour offered by the latter. If your dream is to get married in a traditional Mexican hacienda, then Hacienda Centenario is an excellent option, and once you are here you cannot miss the experience of staying in a barrel of tequila at Matices Hotel de Barricas.

7. San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas.

Located in the south of the State of Chiapas, this Pueblo Mágico is surrounded by the wonderful flora and fauna of the region. Imagine celebrating your destination wedding between cobbled streets and the colonial architecture that surrounds this picturesque city full of Mexican tradition?

When visiting, take advantage and extend your stay to visit beautiful natural wonders such as Cascadas de Agua Azul, Cascadas del Chiflón, Lagos de Montebello and Cañón del Sumidero.

8. Bacalar, Quintana Roo.

9. Cholula, Puebla.

Cholula is considered the oldest city in America that has been populated uninterruptedly since its creation. Being located only 22 kilometers from the city of Puebla, it is rich in art and history, achieving a cultural fusion of pre hispanic traditions with the colonial aspect of the region. Among its streets and alleys there are more than a dozen important temples, as well as 283 parishes and smaller temples. When visiting this Pueblo Mágico you have the opportunity to explore the Great Pyramid and walk through its labyrinth of tunnels or through its outer paths. Cholula has beautiful colonial haciendas to celebrate a beautiful destination wedding in México, such as the Hacienda de San José Actipan and beautiful boutique hotels in the heart of the city such as the Hotel Xoxula and Hotel Casa Calli.

10. Izamal, Yucatán.

This destination known by many as the Pueblo Amarillo de México (Yellow Town of Mexico), due to the color of the walls of this picturesque destination, is located just one hour from the city of Mérida. The beauty of this town is all about its patterned streets, its squares and parks, as well as the beauties that surround it such as pyramids, temples and colonial mansions. The Convento de San Antonio de Padua is one of the most important architectural beauties of Izamal and is the perfect background for wedding photos with a lot of personality. This wonderful Pueblo Mágico is very close to Chichen Itzá, and within Izamal you can also find vestiges of the past of the Mayan culture when visiting its own archaeological zone.
